GreenStar Cultural is the cultural development arm of the GreenStar Community Cooperative. Its province is to assist in cultural activities such as festivals, the pursuit of the arts, and the creation of cultural/artistic venues such as public theaters, art galleries, and the like. It would also be involved in the development of parks, public recreation and sports facilities, ‘edutainment’ facilities such as museums, arboretums, aquariums, and possibly zoos, and other related facilities. (though the cultural attitude in TMP communities may result in very unconventional approaches to the design of these, such as the creation of ‘virtual’ zoos as an alternative hosting live animals) GreenStar Cultural would also be involved in tourism promotion in conjunction with Foundation Media. It may also eventually assume control of the Future Fair/Museum of Tomorrow program.
Generally, communities in TMP would have to take the initiative on these things individually, locally supporting most of the cost of their development. GreenStar Cultural would step in where communities might need help in this, serving as a cooperative formed of the managers of these activities and facilities throughout the collective TMP community. Its chief activity would be the administration of a grant program for these kinds of developments and activities based on CIC dividend reinvestment. This would support both community scale projects as well as the efforts of individual artists and craftsmen –as long as they resided in TMP communities and produced a certain amount of work for those communities, as opposed to for-profit production.
